Divesafari Simply the Best June 2009

After a nice flight with Airberlin from Hamburg to Hurghada and 3 hours drive down to Port Ghalip, we finally arrive in our home for the next week. The very comfortable boat Emperor Elite. With high expectations there is always a risk of dissappointment, but were we ? No.
We were once again lucky with our fellow passengers. A really nice mixture of people from Scandinavia, Holland, Argentina, South Africa, USA, UK and even New Zealand. A big applause to the diveguides Sonia, Maria and Gabriel. They really wanted the guests to have a good time. The local crew were a great bunch as well.
The boat is comfortable with aircondition, private bathrooms, flatscreens in the cabins and in general ample of space. Nice food and no stomach problems.
The diving
After a rather nice checkdive we went straight to the Brother Islands for an afternoon dive at Big Brother. Once again we could enjoy the beautiful coral. On Brother Islands we had encounters with Grey Reefsharks, A Great Hammerhead, 3 Manta Rays, Big friendly Napoleons, A few Hawksbill Turtles and the usual array of Marine life.
On Daedalus we searched for the schools of Hammerheads but had no luck. We did however have a close encounter with a Great Hammerhead, a young Thresher Shark og a few Oceanic Whitetips. A big family of Napoleons and some turtles also made the dives very nice indeed.
Elphinstone did not come up with the big stuff but nonetheless a very beautiful reef with a lot of life. Look carefully and you shall see. Longnose Hawkfish, Nudibranchs, Pipefish and the beautiful Lionfish.
The final dive was in a small bay which produced close encounters with huge Green Turtles with their acompanying Remoras. Very nice indeed, since this was our first encounters with the Green Turtles. It was so nice watching them eating Seagrass, that we almost ran out of air. Fortunately the Turtles went up for a breath, and then we realised, that we should do the same 
Anyway we surfaced with 20 bar and got picked up by the zodiac.
We spend the last night in a hotel and spoiled ourselves with an egyptian massage. If you are in Egypt, have a massage. They are just great.
Well, back home after a great trip. Thanks to all for good company. We'll be back.
